In a graphic representation of the different stages of peace processes, we place the role of women at the centre. It shows where they exert influence to drive the peace process and prevent setbacks.
Women are particularly affected by armed conflict. Yet they often remain excluded from formal peace or transitional justice processes after a conflict has been resolved. We are committed to ensuring women’s equal participation in shaping peace and conflict transformation processes.
What are peace processes – and how do women influence these processes? With a graphic illustration, we show the various roles of women in the different stages of peace processes. We use this tool to highlight the role women play and the influence they have in peace processes.
