The organisation

PeaceWomen Across the Globe was founded in 2006 as a non-profit association under Swiss law. The successor organisation to the "1000 Women for the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize" initiative promotes networking between women peace activists and peace policy organisations as well as the exchange of knowledge among them. It further aims to make women's peace work publicly visible.

The association comprises an international board with a Swiss committee and an office in Bern and works with project partners abroad and cooperation partners in Switzerland.

PeaceWomen Across the Globe is financed by membership fees, institutional and private donations, maintains long-term funding partnerships with foundations and is supported by the public sector.
