About us
PeaceWomen Across the Globe is an internationally active feminist peace organisation that supports women and feminist peacebuilders in contexts affected by armed conflict in their efforts to build lasting peace.
We launch and join campaigns on political issues focused on security, demilitarisation and other themes that are central to our work, working with like-minded organisations to make the demands of civil society heard.
The State Secretariat for Security Policy (SEPOS) published the draft of Switzerland’s first Security Policy Strategy in December 2025. The core content of the strategy focuses on militarised security, largely omitting the social and gendered dimensions of security, as well as conflict prevention. Although the drafting process mostly excluded members from civil society, in collaboration with other likeminded Swiss civil society organisations we were able to provide constructive inputs to SEPOS during the consultation phase[CS1] . The joint civil society demands are:
- The redrafting[ of the Swiss Security Strategy must include elements of [CS3] conflict prevention, the respect of international treaties and a human-centred understanding of security.
- Swiss civil society organisations’ demands must be considered in the budgeting decisions related to this strategy; Swiss civil society must be involved in the monitoring of the implementation of this strategy and the drafting of any future security policy strategies.
