On 18 September 2026, the Federal Council adopted Switzerland’s new Security Policy Strategy. Whilst the strategy refers to "comprehensive" security, it does not place sufficient emphasis on the prevention of armed conflicts. In its media release, the Federal Council notes the high level of participation in the consultation process. PeaceWomen Across the Globe, however, criticises the fact that key proposals for improvement arising from the consultation process were scarcely incorporated into the strategy.
