About us
PeaceWomen Across the Globe is an internationally active feminist peace organisation based in Bern.

The international community has failed Afghanistan – and this is even more true for the women and girls. We call on the Swiss Federal Council and the international community to act to secure their future.
PeaceWomen Across the Globe is an internationally active feminist peace organisation based in Bern.
PeaceWomen Across the Globe was founded in 2006 as a non-profit association under Swiss law. The successor organisation to the "1000 Women for the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize" initiative promotes networking between women peace activists and peace policy organisations as well as the exchange of knowledge among them. It further aims to make women's peace work publicly visible.
15 years ago, Ruth-Gaby Vermot-Mangold together with an international team nominated 1000 women for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Do you want to join us in shaping feminist peace work and make a difference for women in peace processes? Our team in Bern is looking for two Senior Advisors for "Network and Advocacy" and "Peacebuilding During Armed Conflict" with immediate effect.
In the 20 years before the Taliban came to power in August 2021, women in Afghanistan had been able, with difficulty, to reclaim some of their rights and their place in society. Until the takeover, we supported women to increase their knowledge about their rights in relation to the peace process at the time, so that they could help shape peace and have a voice in decision-making processes. We are currently analysing how to continue our support for Afghanistan's women.
